The 49er Connect Success Guides are the UCAE's newest Peer Leaders. They are a trained group of UNC Charlotte Students matched with their peers to provide academic support throughout the semester. The program is FREE to enroll and continue with throughout the semester and your time at Charlotte!
Success Guides serve as accountability partners to ensure you are up to date on your assignments. They can also help peers strengthen academic skills like time management, exam preparation, and note-taking. They can help you to troubleshoot issues in your classes and to become more connected to campus, both people and resources. In bi-weekly check-ins they provide reminders about University deadlines, events happening on campus, and share study tips.

I am a senior at UNCC studying Computer Science with a concentration in Information Technology. I enjoy learning new programming languages with a particular interest in Java, C++, and Rust. My study habits include using the Pomodoro technique, attending group study, and utilizing task management software. I look forward to meeting new students and brainstorming lucrative ways for them to study more effectively and connecting them to the various resources available to them at UNCC.
I am a junior majoring in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science and double minoring in Data Science and Physics. I like to go on walks around campus, bake, and am currently learning how to surf and play electric guitar! Some of my favorite artists are Metalica, Led Zepplin, and NCT. My organizational habits include using legal pads for weekly planning, to-do lists for daily projects, sticky notes, and flash cards. I'm looking forward to working together with students this semester to be organized and successful.
I am a senior who is majoring in psychology and minoring in Japanese and plan on graduating in December of this year!
I am a rising junior here at UNC Charlotte with a major in Communications. I enjoy traveling and self-care, watching Horror films and I am a huge fan of Game of Thrones. My family means the world to me and I love spending time with them. My study habits consist of using a physical planner, sticky notes, study groups and one on one's with my instructors. I look forward to supporting students while they reach their goals one step at a time.
I am a senior double majoring in Psychology and Biology. In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, meditating, listening to music and dancing. I also love playing chess and spending quality time with my friends and loved ones. My study habits consist of the use of planners, color coded sticky notes, mnemonics and note taking. I look forward to meeting students and getting to know each unique individual.
MEET YOUR 2022 49ER CONNECT Equity Fellows:
I am a graduate student in the Counseling program. I moved down to Charlotte from Boone, NC, where I studied at Appalachian State University. I really enjoy hiking, cooking, watching shows, and spending time with my family. When I am not doing those things, you can often find me curled up reading a book or studying. I can not wait to start working with students and offering up any support I can.
I'm in my first year in the Master's of Social Work program, and have a passion for working in healthcare and with underrepresented populations. I did my undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill, and am a diehard Tar Heel sports fan (basketball, field hockey, soccer, football, you name it)! In my free time, I enjoy being active outdoors, exploring new music, kicking butt in Mario Party, and finding great food spots around Charlotte. I can't wait to learn your story and help you accomplish the goals that fit YOU!
I am a first-year graduate student in the department of Counseling, concentrating in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am interested in becoming a therapist and working with adolescents and young adults. Before Graduate School, I spent a year as a College Advisor in Eastern, NC with Carolina College Advising Corps. Before that, I graduated with a major in History with minors in American Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In my free time, I like to cook, discover new restaurants, read, and spend time with my partner, family, and friends. I am so excited to meet you and help you navigate all the amazing things UNC Charlotte has to offer!
