Mackenzie Barry (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Director of Learning Strategies within the University Center for Academic Excellence. She is responsible for managing the 49er Connect program, being the liaison for campus presentations, and supervising Charlotte graduate students as part of a UNC System Office grant-funded project.

Mackenzie received her B.A. in Psychology and Business Studies and M.Ed. in Higher Education from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. Mackenzie has worked at multiple higher education institutions in the fields of academic support, event planning, research, administration, teaching, and faculty support.

She is extremely passionate about equipping students with skills to help them reach their potential and succeed both during their time at college and in their future careers. She believes in the power of education and is passionate about increasing access to opportunities for students to help set themselves up for success and change their fields. She believes every student is capable of excellence and will advocate for them to get them there!
