Lashanta worked for the UCAE as a Front Desk Assistant during her undergraduate studies and now serves as the UCAE’s Program Specialist for Student Success. Combining her career aspirations with her passions, Lashanta takes pride in serving the community through her initiative The HIP-HOPpotunity Project, an initiative that provides free Hip-Hop centered workshops for underprivileged youth and financial support to non-profit organizations through Hip-Hop centered events. Lashanta created this initiative around the belief that success is best achieved with the availability and accessibility of culturally relevant opportunities. She believes strongly in this idea as she strives to continue learning and growing so that her experiences can be used as a ladder to success for others.
