Krystle Smith is excited to join the UCAE staff as a Learning Strategies Graduate Assistant. Krystle is pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. Krystle brings over six years of working with college students as a Tutor Coordinator, Student Mentor, Tutor, Co-Instructor of Learning Strategies, and Facilitator of low and high elements ropes courses and team-building activities. Krystle is passionate about supporting students to work toward their goals, building upon their strengths, and providing them tools to be successful.

Prior to becoming UCAE staff, Krystle worked with children, adolescents, and families, providing community-based family mental health services for over ten years. Krystle earned a master’s degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University. Krystle enjoys camping, swimming, playing board games, traveling, photography, and volunteering in the community.
