Peer Tutor
Fast Facts:

Summary
Peer Tutors may work with a variety of courses, and conduct individual and/or small group tutoring sessions with undergraduate students enrolled in those particular courses. Peer Tutors must offer at least 6 hours of appointment availability, and may be given the option to provide drop-in tutoring hours.
Peer Tutors are academic leaders on campus who support the following Course Support objectives:
- Provide undergraduate students at Charlotte access to free, high-quality, peer-to-peer course-specific support.
- Foster a welcoming environment for students to learn using a strength-focused approach.
- Promote a collaborative relationship among course support leaders and students that encourages a challenging, yet supportive learning environment, leading to greater educational equity on campus.
Expectations
Provide a minimum of 6 hours of appointment availability each week.
- 50% must be in person, on main campus at a UCAE-approved location.
- Up to 50% may be offered virtually.
- Availability may be opened to groups or to individuals.
Utilize Connect (EAB Navigate) to manage availability and tutoring appointments.
Attend mandatory trainings and check-ins throughout the semester.
Note: Peer Tutors are encouraged to work with multiple courses. Adding more courses does not require more availability. Interested Peer Tutors may request to add drop-in tutoring hours, but those are not guaranteed.

- Submitting appointment summaries after each appointment.
- Tracking all appointments and student visits through Connect (EAB Navigate)
- Submitting timesheets through Web Time Entry by the specified deadline.
