Abstract:
There is a growing understanding of the impact mental health has on our overall well-being. In today’s fast-paced world it is easy to forget to take care of your mental health. Since we spend a significant part of our lives in the workplace, this environment should reflect this importance. Often, workplaces are not supportive of the additional needs of their employees, but they could be. We are seeing a shift towards fostering a healthy work environment through inclusivity and understanding. It is important to carry this momentum and build skills to be strong advocates. \r\n\r\nThis presentation aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to advocate for and implement mental health initiatives in their respective workplaces, fostering a healthier and more supportive environment for all. As an employee, you will learn practical strategies and skills to advocate on an individual and group scale. Everything from knowing your limits to promoting mental health policies will be covered. As an employer you will learn how to identify the needs of your employees and build an inclusive work environment. By investing in the mental health of employees, organizations not only fulfill their ethical responsibilities, but also reap tangible benefits in terms of increased productivity, reduced turnover, and a positive work culture. Let’s all work together to create a better tomorrow!
