Athletic Academic Center (AAC) Student-Athletes Only

The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Academic Center (AAC) assists all varsity athletes in achieving academic and personal success. The AAC provides support services that are designed to meet the needs of student-athletes and to ensure student-athlete compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Atlantic 10 Conference, and university regulations.

The AAC provides the following services to athletes:

  • Tutorial programs
  • Life skills programs
  • Information on sports psychology and nutrition
  • The sports performance team

Atkins Library Instruction

The purpose of library instruction is to enhance learning and integrate information literacy into the curriculum. Teaching librarians help students learn to search, read, think, and contribute in an engaged and iterative research process.

In addition to meeting with students to teach information literacy and research skills, our instruction services include:

  • Online, web-based tools targeted to your particular discipline or course
  • Collaboration with instructors to design research assignments and class activities that make the best use of library resources to ensure student success
  • Faculty workshops to provide ideas for instructors to incorporate research skills throughout a course.

Center for Graduate Life and Learning

A part of the Graduate School at UNC Charlotte, the Center for Graduate Life & Learning is a friendly, welcoming place where graduate students and postdoctoral fellows come to polish professional and personal skills, find a quiet spot for study, connect with others, or just relax. It is located in Atkins 149 (across the hall from the Career Center).

College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) Undergraduate Tutoring Center

CCI Undergraduate Tutoring Services offers no-cost peer tutoring sessions, study skills coaching, and academic support to all CCI undergraduate students.

We strive to:

  • Offer excellent tutoring resources to all undergraduate students who request our service.
  • Promote student independence, active learning, and motivation
  • Seek opportunities to increase student awareness and usage of tutoring services.

Language Resource Center (LRC)

The Language Resource Center is available to all UNC Charlotte students but in particular to students from the Department of Languages and Culture Studies and the English Language Training Institute.

The Center is designed with several spaces to accommodate a variety of needs including:

  • Viewing foreign films and online videos for course requirements,
  • Listening to audio materials,
  • developing language skills with language learning computer software, and
  • clarifying understanding with free tutoring in the Language Resource Center for a few languages and others at the UCAE.

Math Learning Center (MLC)

The Mathematics Learning Center (MLC) is located on the third floor of the Fretwell building in room 330. They offer free tutoring to any enrolled student regardless of major or academic standing. In-person, drop-in tutoring is available from 10:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Fridays. The MLC supports most MATH and STAT courses as well as Math Finance/Actuarial and Algebra for Chemistry.

Writing Resource Center (WRC)

WRC consultants support writing growth by offering individualized feedback based on a writer’s strengths, goals, and interests. They offer one-on-one support through face-to-face, synchronous video conferencing, and asynchronous e-tutoring session styles. The WRC has two locations: Cameron 125 and Atkins G34.

All UNC Charlotte students are encouraged to use the WRC for writing assistance, regardless of class level distinction or experience. Not a student? Not a problem! Any UNC Charlotte faculty or staff can also receive writing assistance from the WRC. All you need is a UNC Charlotte email address to register.
