Margaret Forrest, EdD
Margaret Forrest is the Assistant Director for Student Success for the University Center of Academic Excellence. Margaret’s research on students’ engagement, motivation, and retention inspired her to serve students through student services, and she is excited about joining the UCAE team. Margaret is eager to build connections with faculty, staff, and students across the UNC Charlotte campus.
Margaret believes in the power of positivity and enjoys advocating for and building relationships with students. Margaret is passionate about helping and researching best practices to support students. She believes in active learning, collaboration, and student-centered learning provided in a safe and supportive environment.
Margaret is a proud alumna of UNC Charlotte, where she earned her master’s degree in English. She also completed her EdD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University and her bachelor’s degree in Education and Literature from UNC-Asheville. Before joining the UCAE team, Margaret worked 11 years in higher education as an instructor at colleges and universities around Charlotte. In her free time, Margaret enjoys being outside and listening to music.
