Margaret Forrest (she, her, hers) serves as the Assistant Director for Student Success for the University Center of Academic Excellence. Margaret’s research in students’ engagement, motivation, and retention inspired her to serve students through student services, and she is excited about joining the UCAE team. Margaret is eager to build connections with faculty, staff, and students across the UNC Charlotte campus.

Margaret believes in the power of positivity and enjoys advocating for and building relationships with students. Margaret is passionate in helping marginalized populations and researching best practices to support underrepresented students. She believes in active learning, collaboration, and student-centered learning provided in a safe and supportive environment.

Margaret is a proud alumna of UNC Charlotte, earning her master’s degree in English. She completed her EdD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University and her bachelor’s degree in Education and Literature from UNC-Asheville. Prior to joining the UCAE team, Margaret worked 11 years in higher education as an instructor at colleges and universities around the Charlotte area. In her free time, Margaret enjoys being outside, listening to music, or playing with her family.
