Designing a Rubric-Based Hiring Procedure

In the past several semesters, the applicant pool for course support leaders at UNC Charlotte has increased dramatically, with over 180 applicants in Fall 2025. Previous iterations of our hiring procedures made it difficult to compare candidates, which led us to revise our hiring protocol by developing a rubric-based system to evaluate candidates. We will share our process for developing this protocol and discuss how you can implement something similar in your work.
